Troll gas outage rises to 17.5mcm, extends to Friday

(Montel) An unplanned outage at Norway’s Troll gas field – currently cutting flows by 17.5mcm/day – will be extended by another day to Friday, TSO Gassco said on Wednesday.

The outage, which started on Sunday due to compressor failure, had impacted flows by 5mcm/day but the impact was increased to 17.8mcm/day this morning and would affect 15.8mcm tomorrow, it added in a statement.

Meanwhile, another outage (33.8mcm) affecting the Nyhamna field had been extended to tomorrow, Montel reported earlier.

Troll is one of the biggest gas and oil fields in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea, holding around 40% of the country’s supply.

Norwegian flows to the rest of Europe were last seen at 324.1mcm/day, according to Gassco.
