Orlen agrees to sell 3.2bcm Polish gas storage to TSO

(Montel) Polish energy company Orlen has approved the sale of its 3.2bcm gas storage to the country’s TSO Gaz System, it said on Tuesday.

The sale, approved today by Orlen’s stockholders, was an obligation imposed on the firm by the country’s anti-monopoly watchdog following its takeover of gas monopoly PGNiG in 2022.

PGNiG was the sole owner of PSG, the operator of the 3.2bcm Polish gas storage.

Orlen did not reveal the financial details of the deal with Gaz System.

Last Thursday, Orlen’s supervisory board sacked the firm’s CEO, Daniel Obajtek.
