Orlen appoints temporary CEO, 2 new board members

(Montel) The supervisory board of Polish energy firm Orlen has appointed Witold Literacki temporary CEO.

It also appointed Kazimierz Mordaszewski and Tomasz Zielinski to the management team for no longer than three months, it added in a statement late on Tuesday, though these would be replaced in an open procedure.

Last week, the board fired then CEO Daniel Obajtek, who was appointed by the previous government led by the nationalist Law and Justice Party, which lost a general election in October.

Orlen is a leading oil and gas company in Poland and also oversees a power plant fleet of 3 GW.
